The Stray Kind Foundation
A not-for-profit started by Anuja Dwivedi for the street dogs and community animals of our neighbourhood.
The dogs who live on our streets
Every lane has its dogs. They wait outside the chai stall, guard the society gate at night and sleep under parked cars in the afternoon heat. Many go through life without a vet, a regular meal or anyone to call when they are hurt.
The Stray Kind Foundation exists for them, and for the neighbours who already look out for them.
Why “The Stray Kind”
kindnounA group that shares the same nature, as in humankind.
kindadjectiveCaring, gentle and considerate.
Street dogs are a kind of their own, and they deserve kindness. The name holds both meanings. It also describes the people who stop for them. If you are one of them, you are their kind of human.

About
The Stray Kind Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation for street dogs and community animals, starting in Electronic City, Bangalore.
Anuja Dwivedi
Founder and Director
I have loved animals since childhood. My earliest memories are of the dogs we had at home and the many other animals around us. At first, my efforts were limited to caring for a few dogs outside my house and feeding any animal in need.
My real animal welfare work began after I married and moved to Mumbai. There I met my mentor, Godicia from IDA, and that started a lifelong journey of feeding, vaccinating, sterilising and rescuing animals.
